Security

Data Encryption
All data transmissions over the internet between SPEDassist and its users is encrypted using 128bit Secured Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Using a multi tier (MVC) architecture and next-generation development platform, SPEDassist includes a series of program-level security enhancements, such as SQL injection and cross site scripting attacks. Other network-level security measures are implemented upon integration with your current I.T. infrastructure, such as firewall's & IP routing tables.
User Permissions and Authentication
Each user will be given a unique username and password for login, which may be derived from your existing LDAP compliant system. User permissions are defined according to the user’s role and school as defined by your existing student/staff management system.
A typical framework would include:
SERTS are permitted read/write access for students in their school ONLY;
Teachers & Principals are permitted read-only access for student in their school ONLY;
Principals of Special Education can access all students in the entire board.
